Overall, this is a pretty good espresso machine! I love that the size of it as it fits under my cabinets perfect! It has a sleek design and fits the feel of my kitchen. With the automatic machines, I am always paranoid about the milk being sucked back into the machine. I use the quick clean function after every use, and don’t have any concerns. There is a bit of a learning curve to this machine, but once if figured it out I found I really like it!

We love our new Phillips 5400 LatteGo. It makes amazing barista style drinks with the push of a few buttons! It does make smaller drinks then I thought so I have to run it twice to fill my travel mug (even with all the volumes turned up) but still faster than waiting in line at coffee shops. Also wish there was a way to plumb in the water tank. But other than that, it has been a fantastic machine and is saving us a ton of money over going to the coffee shops! 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Let me tell you..this changed my world. I am too busy to be waiting 30 minutes in a Starbucks line. I just add water, turn this baby on and bam! Whatever coffee I want brewed in about a minute.I even get to try different types of coffee beans to see which ones I like more. It’s been so fun! As someone who is not a coffee snob, but I sure do enjoy it, this has been so fun to learn and use.

This unit provides the flexibility in programing i was looking for to customize my morning coffee. The maintenance is very simple and easy to perform. I elected to use the Aqua Clean Filters and unit continues to run well after 7 months of service. I also like how the milk frother works and how easy it is to clean after use.

This is my second Philips automatic espresso coffee maker. I purchased a 3200 for our vacation home last fall. Both machines make perfect coffee beverages to my personal likings. The 5400 has the added advantage of allowing me to store my settings for each beverage as can my partner. Two additional features that I like are the separate setting to just froth milk and the ability to program a double shot cappuccino. To date both machines are very reliable and easy to maintain. I joke that the machines are so good that the end product is all about the choice of beans not the function of the appliance.

Many features, and several profiles for memory features. Limited to a small single serving when using pre-ground slot feature, requiring multiple rounds of brewing for full cup; each round requiring inserting more grounds and running another cycle, and I bought the machine for more of a ‘one touch, and go’ convenience, but overall a great experience otherwise.
